Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is undoubtedly one of the best batters in world cricket. On his day, the veteran opener even beats the best of bowlers. Over the years, playing for India, Rohit Sharma has established himself as one of the most feared batters in the world, which is evident in his records.

The 36-year-old reached yet another career milestone as he completed 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. Rohit reached the milestone in India’s Super Four stage clash against Sri Lanka at the Asia Cup 2023.

The Indian skipper has been in good form at the Asia Cup 2023 and is one of the most influential players for India. He failed to make an impact against Pakistan in the group stage but has been piling on runs ever since. With a knock 74* runs in 59 balls, Rohit was brilliant for India against Nepal. Furthermore, he amassed 56 runs in 49 deliveries against Pakistan in the Super Four stage.

His partnership with Shubman Gill went a long way in establishing a good total against Pakistan and eventually winning the game as well. Their knocks propelled India to a mammoth total of 356 runs in the first innings, and through a brilliant performance with the ball, India registered a 228-run win.

It is also worth noting that Rohit became the second-fastest player to complete 10,000 runs in ODI cricket, just behind compatriot Virat Kohli. Legendary former Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar is the third fastest player to reach 10,000 ODI runs as he accomplished the milestone after 259 runs.

Rohit Sharma reached the feat in just 241 runs, making him the second fastest. In first place, ace batter Virat Kohli completed 10,000 ODI runs in 205 innings, making him the fastest player to reach the milestone.
