Team India marked a historic victory after they qualified for their fourth ODI World Cup final. Defeating New Zealand in the semi-finals of the 2023 World Cup, the Men in Blue put forth an excellent all-round performance to avoid the Kiwi scare.

Defeating the Black Caps by 70 runs, the Rohit Sharma-led side made it to the summit clash of the tournament after sensational performances by the likes of Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami. Speaking of the side’s brilliance throughout the tournament, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson came forward to heap massive praise on the side and brand them as the best team in the world.

"Yeah, for India's next match? Yeah. They're the best team in the world, and they're all playing their best cricket, so that's tough. And I think we see in cricket that often it's surrounded by failure and how you deal with it. The way they've played throughout this tournament has been incredible," Kane Williamson was quoted as saying by India Today.

They haven't missed a beat really: Williamson

Furthermore, Williamson talked about how Team India has been flawless in the tournament so far. He opined that the side will also be going into the summit clash of the prestigious competition on the back of some much-needed confidence.

"They haven't missed a beat really, and to come into a semi-final, you go through your round-robin and you try and get to the stage, and it starts again, but the way they came out and played, yeah, shows the mindset that they have and the space that they're in, and I've got no doubt they'll go into that next match full of confidence," Williamson said.

After defeating New Zealand, India made it to the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. It is worth noting that the side will be facing off against the winner of the second semi-final between South Africa and Australia. The summit clash of the tournament will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.
