India have been in sensational form in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, led by Rohit Sharma. The Men in Blue are currently unbeaten in the competition, having beat the likes of Australia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand and Afghanistan.
However, they will shift their focus to their forthcoming assignment as they gear up to face off defending champion England. India will play the Jos Buttler-led side in the 29th game of the tournament at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, October 29.
It is worth noting that England have not been able to performas per expectations in the tournament. Having played four games so far, the defending champions have managed to register only one win and they currently sit in last place in the standings.

As the clash approaches, former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram has opined that while India are the favourites to win, the defending champions are wounded lions.
"India are favorites to win against England, but England are wounded lions. They will know that they have to win and that could see them approach the game differently. However, India have played with controlled aggression,” Akram was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.
I hope India emulate the Australian team of 2003 and go unbeaten in the entire World Cup: S Sreesanth
Former Indian pacer Sreesanth, who was also a part of the conversation, stated that he would like the Indian team to emulate the performance of Australia from their legendary 2003 World Cup campaign.
"I hope India emulate the Australian team of 2003 and go unbeaten in the entire World Cup. As an ex-cricketer and an Indian, I want the team that has done well in an all-round way to win and that's been India so far,” Sreesanth said.
