Former Pakistan cricket captain Salman Butt offered his insights into India's evolving cricket strategy. Butt pointed out a significant shift in India's playing style since Rahul Dravid took over as the head coach of the team. According to Butt, the once aggressive and dynamic on-field approach has given way to a more relaxed approach under the current coaching setup of Rahul Dravid.

He compared this change to the era of Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri when India's approach was characterized by its aggressive playstyle. He emphasized,

"If you analyze the fitness and body language of the two captains, there is a huge difference. India no longer play aggressive cricket. The team looks very relaxed and laid back. This wasn't the case earlier, as we could see activeness, aggression, and positive body language," Butt stated in a recent video on his YouTube channel.

The results of India's recent five-match T20I series against West Indies raised concerns among fans. The series defeat at the hands of the West Indies team has ignited worries about India's preparation for the forthcoming ICC Cricket World Cup. Butt also delved into India's depth in their talent pool, particularly in terms of bowling combinations. He said,

"India have a large talent pool, but what about combinations? Those are two different things. You may have six more batters, but do you have another Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, or Mohammed Shami? We don't see the depth in their fast bowling in the second tier," he added.

Butt pointed out that although India boasts an impressive array of batting talent, their fast-bowling unit's depth in the second tier remains a concern. The absence of reliable alternatives for players like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami has become evident.

As India gears up for a three-match T20I series against Ireland, commencing in Dublin on August 18, noteworthy changes await. Rahul Dravid's absence, as he won't be traveling with the team, is a notable development. Former domestic player Sitanshu Kotak will take the position of head coach, and returning from his long injury break, star paceman, Jasprit Bumrah is set to captain the side.
