Team India are set to play a closed-door warm-up game vs India A before the Test series in England at the Beckenham ground, located in the southeastern part of London. As per Cricbuzz, after the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) plans to conduct an intra-squad game, a kind of practice match, for the Indian team.

There were talks about broadcasting the game to the audience, but it seems like the decision has been overturned. Now, the match will happen behind closed doors. Also, this is the only practice match that will happen before the start of the real series. The practice match will be held on June 13. After the IPL, players will rest for two weeks and travel to England in the second week of June.

BCCI will send a Team A ahead of the original series to play a 2-match warm-up game against England Lions. The first four-day game will be from May 30 to June 2 at Canterbury, and the next one will be from June 6 to 9 at Northamptonshire Cricket County Club (NCCC) ground.

The selectors will announce the squad for the England series in May during the IPL. Players who won't have any commitments will travel as Team A to play the practice games. India will play a 5-match Test series against England.
