India will have an internal warm-up fixture which will be played against the touring India 'A' side. The 'A' side, who would have played a two-match series by then, will feature in a three-day practice match at the WACA from November 15 to November 17, 2024.

Likely to be skippered by Ruturaj Gaikwad, India 'A', who will have a few Test regulars at their disposal, will have played a couple of games against Australia 'A'. While the first game will be played at the Great Barrier Reef Arena from October 31 to November 3, the second one will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from November 7 to November 10.

The India 'A' squad is anticipated to be revealed within a week's time. As for Australia 'A' and its constituents, chief selector of Cricket Australia, George Bailey, will be announcing the members at a press conference on Monday. There will also be a notification provided pertaining to Cameron Green, about whom there are reports floating as to him quite possibly missing out on the entire series due to a back injury sustained.

An official from CA did not disclose much about the aforementioned warm-up game, and shared it would be completely up to the Board of Control for Cricket in India to shortlist the members they would want.

"It's (an) internal (match), so up to India how they use the game. Maybe, some of the Test players may play in the India A games, but again up to the BCCI. Not many countries seem to play warm-up games these days. Australia didn't play any before the last series in India," stated the CA official, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

The Head of Cricket Operations and Scheduling of CA, Peter Roach, also revealed that the A team fixtures would be a great platform for the emerging players to showcase their prowess.

"Hosting those A matches at the upgraded Great Barrier Reef Arena and the MCG gives these A matches significant status and will provide great opportunities to players from both sides to put up their hand for selection," mentioned Roach.
