Former U-19 India captain back in the 2006 World Cup and current domestic cricketer, Ravikant Shukla, has been massively swindled by some Lucknow builders. Moreover, Shukla has been receiving death threats from the guilty party.

Former skipper approached the Hazratganj police station and lodged an FIR against the dupers.

Ravikant Shukla duped for a whopping 71 lakhs

According to the reports, the 35-year-old has claimed that he had bought two flats from Yazdan Builder’s Alaya Heritage Apartment. The builder had sold him an apartment in accordance and under the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) rules. However, Ravikant found out later that the house was built on illegal land. The LDA had demolished the building back in December 2022.

The cricketer after learning the truth, had immediately demanded his money back from the builders, who had initially promised to return all the money to him. But after repeated cold responses, Ravikant almost gave an ultimatum to the perpetrators about returning his entire amount of 71 lakhs, which he had invested in buying the 2 apartments. Since then, as Ravikant mentioned in his complaint, he and his entire family have been receiving consistent death threats and have also been subjected to unneccasry harassments.

The Hazratganj police station refrained from revealing the details about the case, but have released a statement that they are looking into the case and have already started investigating.

Speaking of his cricketing career, being a left-handed middle-order batter, Ravikant Shukla led India to the final of the Under-19 World Cup, in Sri Lanka, back in 2006. His individual contribution, though, was ordinary then with just 53 runs in six matches. That also sullied his overall U-19 record, as before that he had scored 414 runs at an average of 31.84 in 15 U-19 ODIs. Although he got a first-class debut early as a 18-year-old, he hasn't really transformed into a seasoned first-class player, scoring only one century for Uttar Pradesh and averaging 33 in his first 23 matches.
