India and Australia are locking horns in the second ODI of the three-match series on Sunday, September 24 at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. Being 1-0 ahead in the series, India were invited to bat first by Australian captain Steve Smith. However, India didn’t get off to the best of the starts as opener Ruturaj Gaikwad got dismissed in the fourth over of the innings with just 16 runs on the board.

However, after the early blow, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer stabilised the innings with their 200-run partnership. Gill continued from where he left off in the first ODI and scored a brilliant hundred. One particular shot from Gill once again left the crowd awestruck. During the 14th over of the innings, Gill danced down the track and smacked Cameron Green over his head for a massive six down the ground.

Courtesy of his sensational hit he completed his half-century off 37 balls and continued his brilliant form. He further went on to complete his hundred in 92 balls in the 33rd over of the innings. Notably, it was his fifth ODI hundred in 2023 as he also surpassed the 1200-run mark in the format this year.

Apart from him, Shreyas Iyer also left a mark with his incredible hundred in the third innings after his comeback to the team in the Asia Cup 2023. He completed his hundred in 86 balls with a single against Adam Zampa and was seen ecstatically celebrating the triple-figure mark.
