The Indian Railway launched a special train on Saturday specifically for cricket fans travelling from New Delhi to Ahmedabad to attend the Cricket World Cup 2023 final. This move comes as a relief to fans who were struggling with high airfares, which ranged from Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000.
The highly anticipated match between India and Australia is set to take place on Sunday, November 19, at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. The special train offers seats at much lower prices compared to airfare, with sleeper seats priced at Rs 620 and 1st AC seats at Rs 3490.
The 3AC economy and 3AC seats are priced at Rs 1525 and Rs 1665, respectively. The train will depart from Delhi in the evening and arrive in Ahmedabad the following morning. After the match, it will depart from Ahmedabad at 2:30 am for Delhi.
In addition to the train from Delhi, three similar trains are also operating between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to accommodate the excitement surrounding the cricket event.
As the excitement builds for the India-Australia match, former cricketers are sharing their insights on the potential winner. Sourav Ganguly, the former skipper, emphasizes the importance of India maintaining their impressive tournament form, stating, “If India continues to play like how they have performed in the tournament so far, then it will be tough to stop them.,” as quoted by Financial Express.
Adding to the anticipation, ex-Australian player Michael Bevan deems India as the “clear favourites” but acknowledges Australia’s potential to clinch victory, emphasizing the need for improvement in their batting. Bevan also believes that the toss will play a crucial role, with the team winning it likely opting to bat first in this high-stakes encounter.
In another recent development, it has been revealed that the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is all set to attend the final of the marquee event as a guest of honour. PM, a cricket fan, was among the first to congratulate Team India after their brilliant and pretty one-sided victory against the Kiwis, securing their place in the ODI World Cup final for the fourth time in history.
