India women recently wrote history after they defeated England women in the one-off Test match. The side put in brilliant performances with both the bat and the bowl to overpower the visitors and register a mammoth victory.

Bowlers Pooja Vastrakar and Renuka Singh performed exceptionally well against England in the only Test and took a combined six wickets in the clash to ensure the win for India women. Seeing their brilliant showings, bowling coach Troy Cooley came forward to laud both bowlers for their resilience and work ethic.

"[Renuka] is definitely improving every time I see her, she is coming from a couple of injuries and she has worked extremely hard to not only develop fitness but also to develop her skills. You are starting to see rewards now of all that hard work. Not only does she swing the ball back in naturally. She has now got the ball that straightens and leaves the right-handers,” Troy Cooley was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

It is worth noting that Renuka Singh came back after sustaining an injury in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), and the T20I series against England women was her comeback series.

It is great to see her using the angles: Cooley

Furthermore, Cooley opined that it is good to see Renuka use her angles and how she is using every delivery in her toolbox. Vastrakar was another player who got praise from Cooley. Vastrakar was exceptional in dismissing the English top-order in the one-off Test and the bowling coach did not shy away from heaping praise on her performances.

"It is great to see her using the angles, I really like the way she is putting together the sequence of deliveries and the number of deliveries she has got in option. Her toolbox is quite big now and [she] is definitely using those tools in a strategic and tactical way,” Cooley said about Renuka Singh

"She had a little bit of a sore knee and she came back through that nicely, through rehab she dedicated herself to improve her run-up and get the most out of it. She has done a marvellous job there. Now she is more balanced at the crease,” he added.
