The 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad, between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). DC captain David Warner won the toss and chose to bat first. The Australian received a huge reception from the fans of his former IPL franchise at the toss.

Warner hit his first six in the IPL 2023 off Washington Sundar against his former franchise. He took a total of 247 balls to score a six in the ongoing IPL season. Notably, this was DC's first six in the powerplay of the IPL 2023. However, Warner could manage to score only 21 runs from 20 deliveries before being dismissed by Sundar.

In the ongoing IPL season, Warner has scored 306 runs from seven matches. He led DC from the front in most of the matches, scoring four half-centuries. His best IPL 2023 score was 65 against Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Speaking about the match, DC have set a below-par target of 145 runs for the hosts, courtesy of a late strike from Manish Pandey (34) and Axar Patel (34). Meanwhile, Sundar was in good bowling form for SRH as he took three wickets and Bhuvneshwar Kumar scalped two wickets.

DC took a bold decision ahead of the game as they dropped opener Prithvi Shaw from the batting lineup. England batter Phil Sat opened DC's batting alongside skipper Warner. However, Delhi's move went in vain as Salt was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a golden duck. Both SRH and DC have had a terrible season so far as both stand 9th and 10th respectively in the IPL 2023 points table. SRH have won two of their six matches while DC have won only one match.
