The South African duo of Duan Jansen and Marco Jansen is the first twin pair to feature in the history of the Indian Premier League. The tournament has featured several siblings thus far but never a twin pair.

Over the years, the cash-rich league has seen sibling pairs like Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan, Albie Morkel and Morne Morkel, Michael Hussey and David Hussey, Shaun Marsh and Mitchell Marsh, Brendon McCullum and Nathan McCullum, Dwayne Bravo and Darren Bravo, Siddarth Kaul and Uday Kaul, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya, Sam Curran and Tom Curran.

These sibling pairs turned up for their respective teams in the IPL and were often seen battling it out against each other to get their sides over the line. The most famous of such duels took place between the Pathan brothers when they squared off against each other and Irfan being a swing bowler tried to sneak past the outside edge of his big brother's willow.

With Duan Jansen making his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in the ongoing match between MI and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the South African twin pair created an unprecedented record of being the first twin pair to ever play in IPL history.

Though Duan didn't have a memorable IPL debut to reflect upon as he conceded 53 runs in his four-over spell and could only bag the wicket of Rinku Singh, he will look to improve on his performance if he gets an extended run in the season.

On the other hand, Marco Jansen has done really well for Sunrisers Hyderabad thus far in the season. He has played two games for them in the season and bagged two wickets in each of those outings. He snared 2/16 against Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and then followed it up with 2/37 against KKR.

SRH won both contests and are placed at the eighth position with two wins out of four games that they have played thus far in the ongoing season.
