The summit clash of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 will feature a clash between the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, May 29.

The IPL 2023 final was originally scheduled for Sunday, May 28. However, rain played spoilsport as it fell heavily throughout the evening, which resulted in the postponement of the game. The officials did wait as long as possible to have a shortened match. However, it was deemed impossible in the end, and the game eventually got rescheduled.

In poetic fashion, the sides that kicked off the marquee tournament face each other in the summit clash. Both Chennai and Gujarat took on each other in the season opener of the tournament at the same venue, and it will now finish in a similar manner as well.

Chennai became the first team to qualify for the final after they defeated Gujarat in Qualifier 1 of the tournament on May 23. However, the story did not end for the defending champions there.

Competing in Qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians, Gujarat registered an emphatic victory and made it to their second IPL title in two consecutive years. With the game being washed out on the scheduled day, it could be interesting to see which side emerges victorious on May 29.

Here’s the weather report for the IPL Final between CSK and GT

While there was a heavy chance of rainfall on Sunday, as was apparent. The chances of rain playing spoilsport on reserve day are considerably low.
