The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 began on March 31 in fabulous fashion, and one of the most popular franchises in the competition, Royal Challengers Bangalore, will be kicking off their season by facing five-time champions Mumbai Indians in the fifth match of the tournament.

With the preparations for the game in full flow, the franchise was greeted with a pleasant surprise as Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri joined the squad to attend one of their training sessions. However, the highlight of the session was when Chhetri won the players over after he took a stunning diving catch that left everyone stunned.

Chettri was seen taking the catch in a video that quickly went viral; he was later seen interacting with his good friend and ace India batter Virat Kohli as well. In a video uploaded by RCB on their YouTube channel, Chettri also talked about his relationship with Kohli.

I don't know if many people know this but he is hilarious: Chettri

Talking about his relationship with Kohli and the conversations both players share, Chettri said, "It is always about sports or it is a joke. I don't know if many people know this, but he is hilarious. That side of his is unfortunately not known to people, and I'm not sure if he is going to like me saying this but he is hilarious."

It is to be noted that Bangalore will be under Faf du Plessis’ leadership. Despite the fact that they have been able to make it into the playoffs of the tournament consistently over the last three years, the coveted IPL title has always eluded the star-studded franchise.

They will hope to get off to a winning start as they take on the five-time champions Mumbai Indians, who had a horrid tournament in the previous edition where they finished 10th in the IPL points table. The Rohit Sharma-led side will be desperate to improve their performances from the previous edition.
