IPL 2023: JioCinema records whopping 1.7 crore viewers during MS Dhoni’s innings against LSG

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has already had many highs despite it just being the season. From Gujarat Titans’ continued dominance to the injury woes of many franchises, there have also been a few lows for the franchises in the tournament. However, there is one aspect of the tournament that the fans are buzzing about the most, and that is the return of the legendary Chennai skipper MS Dhoni.
After losing the season opener to Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings made their long-awaited return to the MA Chidambaram Stadium for their second game, where fans could not wait to see the four-time champions in action once more.
Playing against the Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai batted first and got off to a good start thanks to excellent knocks by the opening batters Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway. Towards the end of the first innings, skipper MS Dhoni came in to bat and hit back-to-back sixes in the 20th over of the first innings.
Following Dhoni muscling the balls out of the park, the crowd went berserk, and the online streaming partner of the IPL 2023, JioCinema also registered a record 1.7 crore viewers watching the live stream.

The four-time champions have now won one game and lost another at the IPL 2023. Opener Gaikwad has been phenomenal for the Yellow Army so far and is one of the top contenders for the IPL Orange Cap.
After defeating Lucknow in the sixth match of the tournament, CSK will now prepare for a thrilling clash against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians in Mumbai on April 8. Rohit Sharma and his men will be coming into the game on the back of a defeat against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rohit will hope that the five-time champions can register their first win of the season when they take on Chennai.
