IPL 2023: List of Players Registered for Mini Auction

The cricketing buzz is all set to return to Indian shores as BCCI is all set to host the 16th edition of the IPL auction on December 23 in Kochi, Kerala. After a tremendous 2022 season, most of the franchises have released some of their key players from the previous seasons and will look forward to building a squad that can take on any opponent at any condition and eventually challenge for the title.

The defending champions Gujarat Titans have let Lockie Ferguson leave for Kolkata Knight Riders while T20 legends like Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo have retired from the IPL. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad released 13 of their players including skipper Kane Williamson ahead of the next season while Punjab Kings released Mayank Agarwal, their skipper and one of their leading run-scorers in history.

Thus, even though it’s termed to be a ‘mini-auction’, a lot of bold moves are expected from all the franchises. Now, even though a total of 991 players initially registered for the auction, a total of 405 players will go under the hammer and out of which, 273 of them are Indians and 132 are overseas players. Among overseas players, the likes of Ben Stokes, Rilee Rossouw, Sam Curran, Nicholas Pooran and many others are available for selection.

Courtesy of multiple releases, Sunrisers Hyderabad has the highest salary cap of INR 42.25 while Kolkata Knight Riders with INR 7.05 has the lowest salary cap ahead of the auction.
