Five-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians (MI) endured a tough time in IPL 2022, winning just four of their 14 matches and finishing with the wooden spoon. Their four victories in the previous edition came in their last six matches after losing their opening eight matches of the season. The Mumbai-based franchise will kick off their campaign with a game against ... on .... in hopes of bouncing back from last year's debacle.

Rohit Sharma's side will be returning to action when they take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in their campaign opener at the M. Chinnaswamy on April 2. They will take on arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings in their very second game at the Wankhede on April 8.

There was a massive hole to fill for the most successful side in the competition's history after Kieron Pollard called time on his IPL career after winning five titles with the Mumbai Indians. However, the Carribean all-rounder will remain at the franchise, joining the backroom staff as the batting coach of the team.

They made a surprising move by acquiring veteran leggie Piyush Chawla at the auction ahead of the 16th edition of the tournament. Rohit Sharma will finally have the star fast bowling duo of Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah bowling in tandem in the upcoming edition, as the Englishman missed the entirety of last season due to an injury.
