IPL 2023: Rajasthan Royals players, coaching staff join team camp ahead of forthcoming edition

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will commence on March 31. The opening clash will be played between defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and four-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The 2023 season of the cash-rich league will be played again in the home and away format after three years.

Almost all teams have started their pre-season campaign for the forthcoming T20 extravaganza. On Wednesday, March 22, the runners-up of the 2022 IPL season Rajasthan Royals (RR) shared an update on the side. RR took to Twitter and shared a collage of the players and coaching staff who have joined the team camp. Sharing the picture RR captioned the post, “The first batch of the 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 2023 is here.”

Rajasthan Royals unveiled new jersey for IPL 2023 season

On Tuesday, March 21, Rajasthan Royals unveiled their new jersey ahead of the forthcoming season. The franchise presented the jersey by sharing a heartwarming video via its official Twitter handle. In the video, it was seen that the first jersey of the season was handed to the groundstaff for their immense efforts.

The inaugural IPL champions, Rajasthan Royals had an impressive season last year, finishing second on the points table after winning nine of their 14 matches. The Sanju Samson-led side was defeated in the IPL 2022 summit clash by the newcomers Gujarat Giants who clinched the title in their maiden season. Notably, Gujarat Giants were the second franchise to win the prestigious title in their first-ever season after Rajasthan Royals did it in 2008.

Royals will look for a better season with a solid squad this year. The runners-up from the last edition will kickstart their campaign against the Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on April 2.
