Sunrisers Hyderabad have roped in Netherlands head coach Ryan Cook as their fielding coach for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2023 season. The franchise has gone through some big changes in management and staff roles after finishing eighth in the last edition.

Ryan Cook was the assistant coach for Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 2023 and will miss Netherlands' next two bilateral series due to IPL 2023. Netherlands will play three away ODIs against Zimbabwe, starting on March 21 and then travel to South Africa for the same number of ODIs from March 25.

West Indies legend Brian Lara has been promoted to head coach role from batting coach. Muttiah Muralitharan remains the spin-bowling coach and Dale Steyn continues as the pace-bowling coach. Simon Helmot remains the assistant coach for the upcoming season.

Aiden Markram has been named the new captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad after the franchise's decision to not retain Kane Williamson. Markram was an obvious choice to lead the Sunrisers as he captained  Sunrisers Eastern Cape to triumph last month. He has also replaced Temba Bavuma as South Africa's new T20I captain.

Sunrisers Hyderabad signed Harry Brook and Mayank Agarwal for big bucks in the auction to strengthen their batting unit. Heinrich Klaassen has also joined the franchise and will compete with Glenn Philips for the wicketkeeping spot. The Sunrisers also invested heavily in the spin department with the signing of Adil Rashid, Akeal Hosein and Mayank Markande and their IPL squad is looking well-balanced ahead of the new season.

They are placed in Group B alongside defending champions Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings. They will be playing their home games at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and will face Rajasthan Royals in their first game on April 2, 2023.
