Chennai Super Kings are heading into the final leg of the season without the services of Mustafizur Rahman. The Bangladesh pacer is back with his national team to play against Zimbabwe after missing the first game of the series.
Mustafizur Rahman had a great season with the ball for the Chennai Super Kings and was one of their best bowlers. The left-arm pacer began the season with a four-wicket haul in the first game of the Indian Premier League 2024 season against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
With a handful of games left to be played this season, Chennai Super Kings need a few wins to make it to the top four spot in the table. The defending champions are playing their 11th game of the season on Sunday against Punjab Kings in Dharamshala.

Here are the three likely replacements for Mustafizur Rahman
3. Ashton Agar
The Australian star will be looking for some match practice and to get into the groove ahead of the T20 World Cup. With his vast experience in the T20 format, Ashton Agar can be a good replacement for Mustafizur Rahman.
Ashton Agar has so far played 47 games for Australia and picked 48 wickets with an economy rate of 6.3 runs per over and also has scored 277 runs. His left-arm spin has been difficult to score against and he can also bowl in the powerplay overs.
2. Tim Southee
One of the best bowlers of this era, Tim Southee has been a huge player for his New Zealand. Despite all his successes with the Black Caps, he hasn’t been able to do well in the Indian Premier League.
The right-arm pacer has played with the Chennai Super Kings before and can be a handy new ball bowler. Tim Southee also has the ability to bowl well at the death and use his variations well and could be the perfect replacement for Mustafizur Rahman.
1. Tymal Mills
One of the most underrated T20 bowlers, Tymal Mills didn’t have a great season with the Mumbai Indians the last time he played in the league. The left-arm pacer can bowl at rapid speeds and also has an effective slower ball which foxes a lot of batters.
Tymal Mills has long been seen as a utility cricketer and his wicket-taking abilities. Chennai Super Kings may well be tempted to sign him for the rest of the season and use him as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman.
