Later on, there was a bidding war between Delhi Capitals and the Punjab Kings for the South African batter but ultimately the latter won the bid as they bought the player for a whopping INR 8 Crores. However, it was a poor start to the season for him once he was introduced as he could not muster any significant score. The batter did find form later on in the final three games of the tournament but it was a little too late.&nbsp;</p>

The New Zealand batter’s exploits for his national team saw him earn a massive contract of INR 14 Crores. But the batter could not bring the same form for which he was bought into the tournament and struggled a bit initially. They wanted to go all-in for Mitchell Starc but backed out after giving a good fight to KKR. The franchise ultimately splashed the cash on another Australian pacer, Spencer Johnson for INR 10 Crores. But it turned out to be a poor purchase as the pacer got hit for runs all over the park and surely could not live up to the price tag. He managed to scalp only four wickets across the five games he played in the tournament at a poor economy of 9.44.</p>
