Hardik Pandya's emphatic trade between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians highlighted pre-auction moves

In a recent development before the IPL 2024 auction, the biggest trade in history occurred between Gujarat Giants (GG) and Mumbai Indians (MI), with MI reacquiring Hardik for the upcoming IPL season. Given the trading between Mumbai and Gujarat has been an all-cash deal, 30-year-old Pandya will get a salary of Rs 15 crore at MI. Pandya will also get 50 per cent of the undisclosed transfer given to GT by MI.

This trade gained attention due to Hardik's leadership, which led Gujarat to a title in their maiden IPL appearance, and they were runners-up in the last season, narrowly missing the championship to Chennai Super Kings in the finals. The defeat came as Ravindra Jadeja hit a six and four off the last balls of the inning, bowled by Mohit Sharma.
