No rain, hot and humid afternoon
And the temperature rises a fair bit to nearly 38 degrees Celsius as predicted earlier. The humidity is high at 49% with wind speed around 5.6 kmph.
Tip - Don't fret about the weather. Don't worry about the match being reduced or washed out today. Go for a Sunday siesta and be ready for the blockbuster evening of cricket.

Will there be dew during the match?
The Qualifier 2 on Friday, May 24 did not witness dew even in the second innings. That helped the SRH spinners a great deal in not just tying down the RR batters but also getting their wickets.
As per Accuweather, the dew point temperature for this evening is 25 degress Celsius. It is to be seen if the temperature drops down to that level. The forecast suggests there will be a low of 31 degress Celsius only tonight. Hence, it looks like dew might not come on.
Hot afternoon, rain in isolated places
An independent weather blogger forecasts a hot afternoon with some rain in isolated places of Chennai.
As #CycloneRemal heads for a Sunderbands landfall today evening, North #TamilNadu will continue to see hot afternoons, with many places likely to see max temp around 38 / 39°C. Like yesterday isolated places around #Chennai and suburbs may see convective #rains. #WxwithCOMK pic.twitter.com/OAe3jW2dCZ

Cyclone Remal - Where is it? Is it near Chennai?
As per latest satellite and radar visuals, cyclone Remal is heading to the Bengal and Bangladesh coasts. However, due to it the there are gusty winds in its entire wake, including in Chennai. The wind speed is reported to be 27kmph at present.
The windy conditions are also expected to be there during the match.

What if rain plays spoilsport today?
In case it rains so heavily that the game does not see a result today, it will move on to the reserve day (Monday, May 27). It really came in handy last year when the final was played entirely on the reserve day. All in all, there will be a result, there will be a winner (and a loser, too).
It's not raining !!
The weather currently in Chennai would give hope to all the fans who are looking forward to the IPL 2024 final. It's 33 degrees Celsius right now with the sky being partly cloudy. It's not raining, most importantly. However, the humidity levels are quite high, 55%.
The stage is all set for the summit clash of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 as Kolkata Knight Riders take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final of the tournament. Both sides will battle it out for title glory at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, May 26.
As the clash approaches, the fans sit, worried about the likeliness of rain at the venue on the day of the final. With weather halting KKR’s final practice session in Chennai on Saturday, there have been reports of rain interrupting play in the final.
However, in a sigh of relief for the fans and the players alike, the weather forecast suggests no official prediction of rain, but it is expected to remain cloudy with low humidity. Furthermore, Accuweather has suggested a 97 percent cloud cover on Sunday in Chennai.
There is a one percent chance of thunderstorms, which has been deemed negligible. However, with rain spoiling the final practice session of KKR, it cannot be said that the final will proceed without any interruptions. Moreover, Cyclone Remal in the north of the Bay of Bengal is threatening to bring minor rains, which could have a slight impact on Tamil Nadu's capital city.
