IPL 2024 Final turned out to be a one-sided affair and Kolkata Knight Riders comprehensively won the ultimate clash by eight wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad. After winning the toss, SRH invited KKR to bowl first. Kolkata bowlers were on song as Hyderabad batters collapsed under pressure. No batter crossed even the 25-run mark and they posted a paltry 113 runs losing all their wickets.
KKR did not seem to be under any pressure while chasing. Though they lost Sunil Narine in the second over, Venkatesh Iyer and Rahmanullah Gurbaz kept the team in the hunt. The duo put up a 92-run stand for the second wicket and KKR were cruising towards the trophy. Iyer notched up an unbeaten 52 off 26 balls and KKR won the IPL 2024 trophy and their third IPL title.

In the inaugural edition of the IPL, the winners received prize money of INR 4.8 crore and the runner-ups got INR 2.4 crore. Since then, the prize money has grown over multiple folds and is expected to increase even further in the coming seasons.
The total prize purse for teams in the ongoing edition is INR 46.5 crore, which has been the same for the last couple of seasons. In a bid to make the league even more attractive, the individual prize figures have also been increased over the years.
