The 26th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday, April 12. LSG skipper KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bat first.
Quinton de Kock, as usual, provided a great start to the team but couldn’t keep up the same as Khaleel Ahmed dismissed him on the score of 19 runs. However, Rahul, who usually starts slow, showed intent this time and played a brilliant knock of 39 runs off just 22 balls.
Apart from them, no other batters could contribute enough to the scoreboard as LSG lost their 7 wickets on just 94 runs. Kuldeep Yadav destroyed LSG’s middle order with a brilliant bowling display. However, Ayush Badoni came as a saviour for the team and played a magnificent knock of 55 runs when it was much needed. He helped the team to achieve a fighting total of 167 runs.
Chasing the target, DC didn’t have a great start as their star opener David Warner went back to the pavilion on just 8 runs. However, Prithvi Shaw and debutant Jake Fraser-McGurk took the chase ahead. Shaw continued his brilliant form and played a decent knock of 32 runs.
But the star of the night was Fraser-McGurk as he smashed a brilliant half-century off just 31 deliveries. DC fans must be questioning the management for not including the young Australian in the squad in the earlier matches. The right-hander departed after scoring 55 runs. However, he made sure that DC chased the target easily and skipper Rishan Pant also played his part with a brilliant knock of 41 runs as DC won the match by 6 wickets.

However, we can see DC's Jake Fraser-McGurk on the list very soon as he was quite impressive in his first IPL outing.
