IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants onboard Adam Voges as batting consultant
Voges is one of the most successful coaches in the cricketing world having guided Western Australia and Perth Scorchers to multiple titles under his reign.

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have signed former Australia Cricketer Adam Voges as a batting consultant for IPL 2024. Voges will work alongside former Australia opener Justin Langer who was onboarded as a head coach of the team last year. He will also have the company of former South Africa all-rounder Lance Klusener who joined as an assistant coach earlier this month.
Post Voges’ appointment, Langer recalled their long asocial in West Australia Cricket and Perth Scorchers. Notably, Voges was the captain of Western Australia when Langer coached the side. The LSG head coach lauded him for his excellent job in Western Australia cricket and called his addition a great bonus for Lucknow.

"He and I have a long association together through Western Australia cricket and Perth Scorchers. He himself is a very successful head coach. When I was the coach there [at Western Australia], he was the captain. He took over from me and has done a phenomenal job in West Australian cricket. So, to have him involved with LSG is a great bonus for all of us. He is an outstanding person and an excellent coach. He will bring in so much. We are very thrilled to have him involved," said Langer in a media release.

Notably, Voges represented Australia in 20 Tests, 31 ODIs and 7 T20Is. He made his Test debut against West Indies in June 2015 at Roseau at the age of 35 and became the oldest player to score a century on Test debut. He went on to score 1485 runs in Tests at an average of 61.87 with five hundreds and four fifties to his name.

In ODIs, he notched up 870 runs from 28 innings at an average of 45.78 scoring one hundred and four fifties. The right-handed batter also accumulated 139 runs from five innings in T20Is at an average of 46.33 with one fifty to his name. Voges has also played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2010 and has successfully led Western Australia to eight domestic titles under his coaching. The 44-year-old has also guided Perth Scorchers to two BBL (Big Bash League) titles.
