Defending Champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are practising hard ahead of the IPL 2024 curtain-raiser fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Amid the intense practice sessions, former captain MS Dhoni was seen in a jolly mood as he re-created Ravindra Jadeja’s celebration after winning the IPL 2023.
Notably, the southpaw managed to find a boundary towards fine leg as CSK required four runs to win off the last ball against Gujarat Titans. After hitting the winning run, Jadeja sent the entire stadium and the CSK camp into a frenzy as he ran around the stadium with his arms aloft and punched the air in delight.

Imitating Jadeja, Dhoni was also seen raising his hands after hitting a shot during the nets session ahead of the opening fixture of IPL 2024. The video of the incident is going viral all over social media as fans relived the historic fifth IPL triumph of CSK in 2023.

Notably, after Jadeja hit the winning runs to seal a thrilling win for CSK in the IPL 2023 final, captain MS Dhoni was also seen getting emotional as he lifted the all-rounder in his arms in jubilation. The previous edition was expected to be Dhoni’s last ever season in IPL. However, the ‘Captain Cool’ promised his fans to return for another edition as a return gift for the love they showered on him all over India.
Ruturaj Gaikwad to lead CSK in IPL 2024
Meanwhile, in a shocking move, Dhoni handed over the captaincy responsibilities to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of IPL 2024. The wicketkeeper batter had mentioned in a Facebook post earlier this month that he will be seen in a new role in the upcoming season and CSK finally lifted the lid on his new role by announcing Gaikwad as the skipper of the 17th season.
