IPL 2024: Punjab Kings 2nd innings highlights against RCB in Match 58
Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat the Punjab Kings by 60 runs to keep their hopes alive in IPL 2024 on Thursday.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru batted like a team possessed as they came up with a massive score of 241/7 from their 20 overs. Virat Kohli scored a magnificent 92 before he his dream of a 2nd IPL 2024 century was cut short by Arshdeep Singh.
Vidwath Kaverappa began with two wickets before Rajat Patidar got stuck in and scored a quick-fire fifty. Cameron Green batted well to score 46 before he was out in the last ball of the 1st innings. Harshal Patel bowled a great final over to snare three wickets and also became the leading wicket-taker for IPL 2024.
Punjab Kings: 50 runs off 4.1 overs
Swapnil Singh started well when he had the wicket of Prabhsimran Singh for 6. From there it was the Rilee Rossouw show as he the South African took full toll of the powerplay overs. Jonny Bairstow pulled Yash Dayal deep into the stands to get his to the 50-run mark.
Powerplay: Overs 0.1 to 6 and first strategic time-out (Mandatory – 75/2)
The last over before the 1st time-out was bowled by Lockie Ferguson. Jonny Bairstow immediately went after Kiwi pacer and hit him for a few boundaries. A slower ball from Ferguson did the trick as Bairstow was out caught by Du Plessis to end his innings.
Half-Century: Rilee Rossouw off 21 balls
South African batter brought out his best game as he smashed his first fifty of the season. The left-handed batter hit Cameron Green for a four and then a six straight down the ground to get to his half-century.
Punjab Kings: 100 runs from 8.2 overs
Karn Sharma was welcomed to the bowling crease by Rilee Rossouw with a boundary to take Punjab Kings past 100 runs. The home team were keeping in touch with the needed run rate as they got the century mark a ball earlier than RCB did during their batting.
Punjab Kings: 150 runs from 13.3 overs
After the fall of Rilee Rossouw, Punjab Kings kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Shashank Singh kept the home team in the game with a few lusty hits as Sam Curran joined in a bid to keep the hopes alive for Punjab Kings.
Punjab Kings: Second Strategic time-out (170/8 from 15.3 overs)
Virat Kohli pulled off an excellent run-out to get the big wicket of Shashank Singh at a crucial juncture in the game. Sam Curran was joined by Ashutosh Sharma but Mohammed Siraj and Lockie Ferguson dismissed both batters to end the hopes and IPL 2024 season for PBKS.
End of the Match: Punjab Kings - 181 all out from 17 overs
In what was a key game for Sam Curran and his men. Royal Challengers Bengaluru displayed ruthlessness and dominated the game. While RCB still have hopes to make it through to the next stage this loss now will leave the home team with more questions as yet another season has slipped through their fingers.
