Delhi Capitals have been down under the hole in the Indian Premier League 2024 so far. The franchise's hopes were high as their blue-eyed boy, Rishabh Pant made his much-awaited comeback. But their fortunes do not seem to turn as they have hit rock bottom in the points table. After playing five matches thus far, they are in the tenth spot with a sole victory.

The only way they can dream of a place in the play-offs is by winning the remaining seven of the nine matches. They will accumulate 16 points if they can fetch seven wins and will contest strongly for the playoffs. If things do not turn out to be as anticipated, six wins in the remaining nine games will still keep them in contention. It is worth noting that their Net Run Rate was severely dented after a 106-run loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders. Their NRR reads -1.370, hence the road to qualifiers would be an arduous one if they muster anything below 14 points.

DC were outclassed by the Punjab Kings by four wickets in their inaugural game of the IPL 2024. The marauding Rajasthan Royals further thrust them down with a 12-run victory. As surprising as it gets, the Delhi camp managed to outshine defending champions Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs. However, they could not keep the winning momentum going in the subsequent games. KKR provided the Pant-led side with the biggest scar of the season, a 106-run defeat.

DC will look to get back to winning ways against LSG

DC appeared for their fifth game with high spirits as Mumbai Indians were reeling winless. But, the 234-run target proved to be too much for the visitors and MI thwarted them by 29 runs. DC will play their next game against the Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on April 12. They will be hoping to get back to the winning ways. For the unversed, DC’s Head Coach had expressed that he was almost embarrassed after the loss against KKR.
