On Monday's Indian Premier League 2024 Match 14, Mumbai Indians (MI) faced the confident Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. After winning the toss, RR chose to bowl where Trent Boult struck like lightning and dismissed Rohit Sharma on a duck in the first over. Yuzvendra Chahal, Nandre Burger and Avesh Khan took 3, 2 and 1 wickets respectively. Mumbai Indians faced difficulty as their wickets fell very fast and were restricted to 125/9 in the allotted 20 overs.
Rajasthan Royals were confident after their bowlers' performance in the first innings. Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal open the attack for RR against Mumbai Indians. The RR openers got out too early in the game by Kwena Mphaka and Akash Madhwal. Mumbai Indians' Akash Madhwal castled skipper Sanju Samson for just 12 runs. Riyan Parag's extraordinary knock of 54 off 39 balls took Rajasthan Royals to their back-to-back third victory of this season.
