Kolkata Knight Riders found themselves with a new batting sensation in the game against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. The 18-year-old had first come to the field as an impact player in the game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Slotted into bat at number three the right-handed batter got off the mark with two delightful shots. The delightful debut from the young batter had the commentators signing praises about his batting.

Sunil Narine was going great guns as he went after the Delhi Capitals bowling unit. Angkrish Raghuvanshi came out to bat when Anrich Nortje dismissed Phil Salt. Once the youngster showed his batting prowess the fans wonder who exactly Angkrish Raghuvanshi is. 

Angkrish Raghuvanshi: Young batter with stunning shots

18-year-old Angkrish Raghuvanshi was born in New Delhi but he moved to Mumbai for better cricketing opportunities. His efforts paid rich dividends as he soon became one of the most notable young batters.

After a string of good scores in age-group cricket, Angkrish Raghuvanshi was picked for the Indian Under-19 World Cup 2022. In the game against Uganda, the right-handed batter struck 144 runs from off 120 balls with 22 fours and four sixes. Angkrish Raghuvanshi is yet to play a first-class match but has already played List A and T20 games for Mumbai. In 5 List A games, Raghuvanshi has hit 133 runs with a highest of 57 which is his highest score.

Kolkata Knight Riders picked the youngster for a sum of INR 20 Lakhs during the IPL 2024 auctions. His first game for KKR came as an impact player when he came onto the field at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. 

In his very first innings with the bat, Raghuvanshi played some amazing shots. His best shot of the day came against Rasikh Dar. The bowler bowled one outside off-stump and Raghuvanshi played a reverse paddle as the ball went for a huge six.

His fifty came off 25 balls with a quick single as the entire KKR dugout stood up to applaud. If he can keep his run-scoring form going the 18-year-old could soon be part of the Indian team in the T20 format.
