In the exciting world of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, there's a new player turning heads for the Delhi Capitals (DC). His name is Jake Fraser-McGurk, and he's an up-and-coming cricket talent from Australia. Roped in as a replacement for injured Lungi Ngidi, McGurk didn't get the opportunity to showcase his talent in the first five matches, but once he did, he grabbed the chance with both hands.
Jake's only 21 years old, but he's already making waves. Before joining DC, he played some exciting matches for the Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 tournament.
This year, Jake got his chance to play for Australia in the ODI format against the West Indies. In just two games, he showed off his skills by scoring 51 runs with a strike rate of over 220. Even though he hasn't played a T20I yet, he's known for hitting big shots and has a great strike rate in the T20 matches he's played before.

Imagine hitting 13 sixes and 10 fours to score 100 runs in just 29 balls! That's the kind of player he is – fast, powerful, and exciting to watch.

And it's not just in international cricket where Jake shines. In the Big Bash League (BBL), playing for the Melbourne Renegades, he scored 257 runs at an incredible strike rate of 158.64.
When Jake made his debut for the Delhi Capitals against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), he made it count. He scored 55 runs in just 35 balls that included two boundaries and five massive sixes one of which flew 96 meters!
In his debut match for DC, he had laid claim to a spot in the starting XI and could be a sure starter as the Delhi-based franchise look to surmount a challenge towards the top of the table.
