With just 6 matches left to go, the final week of the Indian Premier League is set to be entertaining for fans across the world. Rajasthan Royals who have been on a losing run will want to get back to winning ways when they take on Punjab Kings in Guwahati on Wednesday.

Ahead of the game, the Royals were hit by a massive jolt as Jos Buttler flew back home. This has created a huge gaping hole in the Royals’ unit as they will be looking to replace the English white-ball skipper in the team.

One of the names floating around as the prospective replacement has been Tanush Kotian. The youngster from Mumbai was drafted into the team as a replacement for Adam Zampa who had pulled out before the season could begin.

Tanush Kotian: Youngster who is making heads turn with his performances

Born on the 16th of October 1998, Tanush Kotian has been touted as one of the star performers in the domestic circuit. The youngster is a wily off-spin bowler with the ability to use the crease and deceive the batters with his flight. Kotian also uses his height well to alter his lengths and is able to gauge what the batter is ready to do.

Tanush Kotian debuted for Mumbai in 2018 in the Ranji Trophy game against Saurashtra. With the bat, Tanush Kotian scored just 4 runs and picked up 2 wickets in the first innings with the ball, with one of his victims being Jaydev Unadkat.

After Adam Zampa decided to pull out of the season, Tanush Kotian came in as a replacement for a price of INR 20 Lakhs. Till now he has played just one game against Punjab Kings. The men in pink surprised everyone by making Tanush Kotian open the innings as the right-handed batter scored 24 runs from 31 balls.

Mumbai had won the Ranji Trophy this year after beating Saurashtra in the final. Tanush Kotian played a huge role by scoring a total of 21 runs in the final and also picking 7 wickets. In the game against Baroda, Tanush Kotian batting at number 10 scored an impressive 120 not out and followed it up with a match-winning 89 in the semi-finals against Tamil Nadu.

His T20 career for Mumbai is exemplary as Tanush Kotian has picked 24 wickets from as many games with a best of 4/16. His economy rate of 6 runs per over shows the control he has with the ball and how effective he can be whenever he has been called upon to bowl.
