IPL 2025: CSK tickets hit black market ahead of official sales announcement

Black marketing of tickets in relation to matches of Chennai Super Kings has already started even before the commencement of the official sales for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. As has been witnessed in previous seasons, there is always an immense demand of CSK's tickets amongst their supporters. Even before the official sale, there are plenty of tickets which have been registered on several re-selling websites. 

A prominent re-selling website has put out tickets for every fixture of CSK and several other high-profile IPL encounters. According to an India Today report, the ticket prices are ranging from INR 17,804 to INR 123,593. The much-awaited clash between CSK and Mumbai Indians to kickstart both sides' IPL 2025 campaign is reported to have ticket prices averaging over INR 57,000.

Meanwhile, the highest ticket price for the return fixture at the Wankhede Stadium is reported to be INR 5,13,514. The absurd situation quite clearly highlights the feverish craze for arguably the biggest franchise competition in world cricket. 

Throughout the previous editions of the IPL, there have been widespread complaints of fans wanting a more transparent process when it comes to the sale of tickets by teams. This comes after many of them have had their hopes crushed of going to the stadium to experience the live event. 

In the meantime, there has been no official information yet on the official website of the joint-successful franchise of the tournament. Therefore, the section of supporters wanting to purchase tickets via verified channels will have to wait a bit longer to secure their attendance at the MA Chidambaram Stadium for what is anticipated to be an action-fueled season ahead.

As mentioned above, CSK will start their campaign with a clash against their arch-rivals in Chennai. They would be keen on bettering their performance in the upcoming season after failing to qualify for the playoffs last year.
