Manoj Tiwary criticized CSK's performance in the IPL 2025 after the match against KKR. The former Kolkata player questioned CSK's adaptability even after losing 4 games in a row.

Tiwary could not understand some tactics and selections. He wondered what went through Ravichandran Ashwin's mind while operating against the left-handed batters. Besides, he also seemed confused about whether Chennai prepared well and planned well for their matches after conceding a loss in the ongoing IPL season.

"Why do they not go to the drawing board early? I think, it is obvious that you re-assess after a loss. But some things that are taking place is beyond my understanding. Like, when Ashwin was bowling today, earlier to all the left-handers he bowled round the stumps, but today he bowled over the stumps," Tiwary was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

The former Indian player felt Ashwin's bowling became easy for Sunil Narine to face. He pointed out that small things like those affected CSK's game and wondered if the think tank lost their mind after a series of losses, even after having someone like Dhoni in their dugout.

"It became very easy for Sunil Narine. These small things...when you have such an experienced player and wicketkeeper like MS Dhoni? Have their brains stopped working?" asked Tiwary.

Tiwary predicts a downhill slide for CSK after KKR defeat

Furthermore, Manoj Tiwary felt CSK were about to go downhill after the loss against KKR. The 2012 IPL winner criticized the decision-making of Dhoni against KKR. He also questioned the shot selection of the batters and wondered why CSK's best bowler of the season, Noor Ahmad, was introduced in the eigth over of the match when KKR had all but sealed the match for themselves.

"From hereon CSK's cart is going to go downhill. It seemed like that from the last three-four matches. You see the shot selection of the players, after playing for 20-25 years, you get to realise what can happen. I couldn't understand some things. Your Purple Cap winner is Noor Ahmad, but when did he come to bowl? In the 8th over. And in the first ball itself, he scalped the wicket of Sunil Narine," Tiwary concluded.
