The inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League in 2008 witnessed Rajasthan Royals win the title for the first time. A thrilling game which went right down to the last delivery ensured RR their maiden triumph in the IPL back in 2008. The Shane Warne-led side won by three wickets at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. An all-round display (56 off 39 and 3/22) earned Yusuf Pathan the Player of the Match accolade and Shane Watson won the Player of the Tournament accolade for 472 runs and 17 wickets.

Since then, RR have entered the playoffs six times, appearing in only one final, in 2022, when they ended up on the losing side. Over the years, they have composed some glittering rosters. However, they have not quite been able to perform as per expectations. RR have an impressive brand identity which  contributes significantly to their net worth.
