IPL 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad set to retain Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma

October 31 has been set as the deadline for finalizing on the retentions ahead of the mega-auction scheduled for later this year.

Based on the most-recent development, it has been learned that the Sunrisers Hyderabad have finalized three of their retentions up until now. South African power-hitter Heinrich Klaasen, Australian skipper Pat Cummins, and Indian all-rounder Abhishek Sharma are set to be the franchise' retention deals.

As the first retained player, Klaasen will receive INR 23 crore as SRH's firsts retained player. Cummins and Abhishek have been set at respective amounts of INR 18 crore and INR 14 crore.

It is being reported that Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy have a strong chances of getting retained by previous edition's finalists. More updates are anticipated to follow considering the last date for franchises to finalize their retentions set as October 31, 2024. 

Cummins, who had captained the Sunrisers to the final in the last season where they fell short against his former franchise, the Kolkata Knight Riders, will continue as skipper in 2025.

Klaasen was SRH's third-highest scorer behind Head and Abhishek in IPL 2024 with 479 runs in 15 innings. Head led the charge with 567 runs in as many innings. Abhishek, who played one innings more than his aforementioned teammates, scored at a rate more than any of the remaining nine batters in the run-scoring chart (204.21).
