IPL 2025: Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s father credits Rahul Dravid, RR management and BCA for record-breaking knock
Young star’s father expresses gratitude after historic IPL performance.
The name Vaibhav Suryavanshi has emerged as one of the upcoming young stars in IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League) after his amazing century against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. This was a record-breaking knock from the upcoming cricketer.
Suryavanshi was named Player of the Match for this innings, which included seven fours and 11 sixes. Despite the huge total set by the Gujarat Titans, the Royals chased down the target with sheer ease.
Notably, it took the Rajasthan Royals just 15.5 overs to chase down a mammoth target of over 200 runs. Suryavanshi gave an interview after his innings, where he opened up about his family’s struggles. Moreover, he also shed some light on how they supported him during the early days of his career.
Dravid’s guidance and hard work of other coaches behind Vaibhav’s rise
Suryavanshi’s father, Sanjiv Suryavanshi, also had a lot to say about his son's outstanding performance in the last game, where he thanked the RR management and the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) for the role they played in his success. More importantly, he also showed his gratitude towards the RR head coach Rahul Dravid, along with past coaches involved with the franchise, who helped Vaibhav in grooming and fine-tuning his batting skills.
“Today, in the IPL match, Vaibhav scored a century off just 35 balls and led his team, Rajasthan Royals, to victory. We are extremely happy with his achievement. Along with us, our entire region, district, the whole of Bihar, and the country are celebrating his brilliant batting. We sincerely thank the entire Rajasthan Royals management and the players for Vaibhav's growth and success. Over the last three to four months, Rajasthan Royals have kept Vaibhav with them and given him excellent practice,” Sanjiv Suryavanshi said as quoted by India Today.
“Head coach Rahul Dravid Sir, batting coach Vikram Rathour Sir, Zubin Bharucha Sir, Sairaj Bahutule Sir, and Ruby Sir — all of them have worked together to refine and improve his game. Vaibhav himself has also worked very hard, and today’s outstanding performance is the result of that effort. We would also like to sincerely thank BCA (Bihar Cricket Association) President Rakesh Tiwari and his family," he continued.
"At a very young age, he gave Vaibhav the opportunity to represent Bihar, and Vaibhav has made the most of it by showcasing his talent and reaching this milestone today," the father of the upcoming star concluded.
