Match Details
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are crossing swords in the Match No. 3 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The clash on Sunday, March 23 is featuring the arch-rivals miss a few key names from their respective squads.
Hardik Pandya and Devon Conway miss out
From Mumbai, their mainstay skipper Hardik Pandya missed the match due to an ongoing ban due to slow-over rate during the previous edition, which will allow Pandya to take over the captaincy duties from the next encounter against Gujarat Titans. Chennai, on the other hand, are without opening wicketkeeper-batter Devon Conway, as the side opted for Noor Ahmad as their fourth overseas option apart from Rachin Ravindra, Nathan Ellis and Sam Curran.
What did the captains say at the toss?
Suryakumar Yadav (MI):
"I am good with batting first. We had a lovely camp back home, we were here 2-3 days before. Both are unbelievable franchises in terms of achievements. I am sure it will be a good game. Rickleton, Jacks, Santner and Boult are the four overseas," said MI skipper Suryakumar Yadav at the toss.
Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK):
"We are bowling first. Playing on this pitch for the first time, so don't really know how it will play. So we just want to adapt and chase accordingly. Looks a good wicket to bat. Prep has been good. We had our young wicket-keeper coming back early to the camp. Noor, Ellis, Rachin and Sam Curran are the overseas," CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad revealed after winning the toss.
