IPL 2025: Why is Glenn Maxwell not playing in RCB vs PBKS Match 34?

Glenn Maxwell will not feature in the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday, April 16. Both sides are coming into this fixture with similar sequences of results; comprising four wins and two losses.

RCB are coming off a comprehensive nine-wicket win against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. On the other hand, it was a low-scoring thriller which saw PBKS emerge on top against Kolkata Knight Riders by 16 runs in Mullanpur.

Toss Update

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field first. He justified his decision to the Chinnaswamy being a good chasing venue in addition to the rain interruption shortening the duration of the game. On the other hand, Rajat Patidar seemed quite committed in putting up a competitive total on the board.

Stoinis comes in for Maxwell, RCB go unchanged

Maxwell has had a severely underwhelming season so far. Apart from one 30-run score, his scores read 0, 1, 3, and 7. His fellow compatriot, Marcus Stoinis, was brought in for Maxwell. Harpreet Brar, who has had quite some success against RCB, was the second change which was made. On the other hand, RCB went in with an unchanged XI.
