In the second match of Sunday, March 30, in the ongoing IPL 2025, Chennai Super Kings are being hosted by Rajasthan Royals at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The visiting side won the toss and their skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, informed their decision to take the field first, inviting the Rajasthan Royals batters to set them a target in the all-important match of the cash-rich league.

Sam Curran dropped; Vijay Shankar, Jamie Overton come in

At the toss, the hosts captain Riyan Parag confirmed that they will enter the contest with the same team, whereas, Chennai, on the other hand, opted for making a couple of changes coming into the contest. English all-rounder Sam Curran made way for fellow national, Jamie Overton. Meanwhile, experienced all-rounder Vijay Shankar will also be making his maiden appearance of the 2025 season, replacing Deepak Hooda. Shivam Dube is likely to be used as Impact Substitute by CSK.

What did the captains say?

Riyan Parag, RR captain

Would've done the same as well. My hometown, been brought up here and played a lot of cricket here, surreal feeling to play in front of all these people. We've done well in small bits, it's about coming together and putting up a collective performance. Same team for us.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK captain

We will bowl first. Looks a good wicket, better than the last game that was played here so we'll look to chase. So far so good, it was a quick turnaround, very little time for us but that's how the IPL is. We have to be ready. We have come here for the first time as a franchise, good to see all the love we've got. Two changes, Jamie Overton comes in for Sam Curran and Vijay Shankar for Deepak Hooda.
