Indian left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat found himself a new franchise in the IPL 2023 auction after Lucknow Super Giants captured his signature for his base price of 50 Lakhs. This was the 11th time the left-arm pacer was picked up by a franchise in the IPL auction. He was signed by the five-time champions Mumbai Indians for 1.3 crores for IPL 2022.
The 31-year-old recently made a return to Test cricket after a lengthy hiatus of 12 years in the ongoing series against Bangladesh. His return to the Test side came on the back of a prolific domestic season, scalping 13 wickets in West Zone's Duleep Trophy title triumph. He is the leading wicket-tacket in the Ranji Trophy over the past six seasons with an impressive haul of 224 wickets.
His record-breaking 2019-20 season for Saurashtra saw his scalp an astonishing 67 wickets in just ten matches, guiding his side to their maiden Ranji Trophy title.

Jaydev Unadkat made his big bow for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2010 and then went on to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals as well. He returned to KKR in 2016 only to find himself a new franchise the following year as the Rising Pune Super Giants captured his signature in the 2017 auction.
His move to the Pune-based franchise proved to be a turning point in his career as he returned with 24 wickets in just 12 matches. His incredible outing for Pune made the Rajasthan Royals splurge a whopping 11.4 crores in the 2018 auction. Unfortunately, he did live up to the expectations at his new franchise and found himself being bought for lesser sums of money by the same franchise in 2019,2020, and 2021.
