Mumbai and Rest of India’s are in action at Lucknow's Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium (BRSABV) in the Irani Cup.
The fixture has already seen some brilliant performances so far as youngster Sarfaraz Khan, who resumed batting on day 2 after scoring an unbeaten half-century on the previous day, converted his innings into a century.
After Ajinkya Rahane’s heroics with the bat, Sarfaraz's 15th first-class century has put Mumbai in a strong position. Sarfaraz showed resilience and batted well under pressure, achieving the feat in the 92nd over of the first innings.

Ajinkya Rahane caught in nervous nineties
Day 1 of the clash belonged to the veteran Rahane, who was sensational for his side. Rahane went back unbeaten on 86 on the first day, however, he failed to bring up the triple-digit mark, as he was dismissed was 97 off 234 after Mumbai’s top order collapsed as Prithvi Shaw and Ayush Mhatre were dismissed for four and 19 while Hardik Tamore departed for a three-ball duck.

Rahane, alongside Sarfaraz, completed his half century on the opening day to helped Mumbai finish at 237 runs with the loss of four wickets. With Sarfaraz bringing up his ton, Mumbai are heading towards a big total. By the time of lunch on Day 2, they had put on 338 runs on the board at the loss of six wickets.
