Organizers made the decision to delay the UAE and Scotland fixture in Dubai after a governmental directive cited adverse weather conditions across the nation.

Following their 35 run victory in the first ODI clash in Sharjah, Afghanistan maintain a 1-0 series lead against Ireland. However, the second match slated for Saturday met an unfortunate fate due to heavy rains persisting in Sharjah. Consequently, the Afghanistan Cricket Board announced the cancellation of the fixture. Spectators now turn their attention to the series finale scheduled for March 12 at the same venue, hoping for clearer skies and uninterrupted cricketing action.

"The decision to call off the game was made as the result of extensive discussions between the event's technical committee, match officials, and ground staff," the Afghanistan Cricket Board said in a statement.

As per reports from UAE media outlets on Saturday, inclement weather conditions in the region prompted the cancellation of flights, accompanied by the issuance of a yellow weather alert. Furthermore, forecasts indicated the likelihood of thunder, lightning, and heavy rainfall in Abu Dhabi. The suspension of the bus service connecting Dubai and Sharjah was also reported. However, marine transport services in Dubai resumed operations following disruptions earlier in the day due to adverse weather conditions.
