Ireland Women are back in action this month for their first of two home white-ball series – the first set of fixtures being against the newly-crowned Asia Cup champions, Sri Lanka.

The five-match, multi-format series is to be played between August 11 to 20. This is the first time the two sides will meet in a competitive bilateral series, having met only six times previously.

The three one-day internationals are part of the ICC Women’s Championship. Notably, Sri Lanka beat India recently to win the 2024 Asia Cup. Ireland Women has never beaten Sri Lanka Women in a competitive match

Meanwhile, Ireland’s Una Raymond-Hoey returns to the squad after spending the last five years in Australia while Ireland have also called up Christina Coulter Reilly and Alice Tector for the first time

This is the first-ever bilateral series between the two sides - Ireland and Sri Lanka first played against each other competitively in 2010, with Sri Lanka having won five times and one no result. The two sides met in a warm-up match for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2018, which Ireland won by 8 wickets.
