ISPL 2025: Mansoor KL’s heroics keep Hyderabad's fight on
Despite Hyderabad’s modest total of 62 runs, Mansoor produced a breathtaking performance, taking four wickets for just seven runs in two overs
Falcon Risers Hyderabad put up a spirited fight in their seventh match of ISPL 2025 against Mumbai, with Mansoor KL delivering the best bowling spell of the season so far. Despite Hyderabad’s modest total of 62 runs, Mansoor produced a breathtaking performance, taking four wickets for just seven runs in two overs, triggering a mini-collapse and pushing Mumbai to the brink. Although Hyderabad ultimately fell short, Mansoor’s resilience ensured the contest remained fiercely competitive.
Mansoor KL’s cricketing journey is a testament to determination and grit. Hailing from Kerala, he took up serious cricket only in 2018 after college, excelling in tennis-ball tournaments and earning accolades like “Man of the Series,” which led to a job in Dubai. While working in a hospital’s Purchase Department, he honed his skills, making a breakthrough in 2022 by winning “Man of the Series” in a prestigious All India tournament. Debuting in ISPL Season 1 with Bangalore Strikers, he won two matches. Now a key bowler for Falcon Risers Hyderabad, Mansoor is proving his mettle with match-winning performances. At 29, he remains focused on inspiring young cricketers in Kerala and elevating tennis-ball cricket’s profile while driving Hyderabad’s campaign forward.
Mansoor’s masterclass in tape-ball precision bowling was in public display with his accuracy due to the extra swing. He dismissed three batters in a single over, and came agonizingly close to a hat-trick while taking out the top opponent batters. Despite Hyderabad’s tough luck, his ability to restrict runs and create pressure made him the standout performer.
