Pakistan registered a massive victory in the final group game of the Asia Cup against Hong Kong to qualify for the Super 4 stage and set up the second installment of the blockbuster clash against India on Sunday, the 4th of September. The arch-rivals will go head to head for the second time in the tournament after India had pipped their neighbours in a close encounter earlier in the tournament. Indian head coach Rahul Dravid produced a hilarious moment during the presser in the lead-up to the match on Saturday evening.
Rahul Dravid, who was a doubt for the Asia Cup after he had contracted the Covid-19 virus just days before the commencement of the tournament, made a speedy recovery to continue with his role at the helm of the Indian team. While addressing the media on Saturday evening, ahead of the clash against arch-rivals Pakistan, the former Indian captain had the reporters in splits with his quirky response on the performance of his bowlers.
Apparently, the Indian head coach was trying to describe the Indian bowlers as not as "sexy" as the Pakistani bowlers but were effective nonetheless. Although Dravid did not use the word himself, the reporters present there understood what he was trying to convey and burst into laughter. The Indian coach suggested that his bowlers might not have the same amount of pace as their counterparts, but they are effective, and that is what matters.
"I wanted to use the word, but I can't use that word, the word in my mind is coming out of my mouth, but I can't use it. The point I'm trying to make is... it is a four-letter word that starts with 'S', but ok. We might not look glamorous, but we have got the guys who produce results," Rahul Dravid said during his presser.
Notably, India suffered a substantial blow earlier today when Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the upcoming T20 World Cup, according to reports. When asked about Jadeja's injury, Dravid did not rule him out of the ICC event and said we should not jump the gun at the moment and wait for further reports.
