Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets at home as they chased down 173 runs with ease (16 balls remaining). Prolific batter Suryakumar Yadav stood at the forefront of MI’s victory as he played a scintillating knock of 102* off 51, including 12 fours and six sixes.

As Mumbai grabbed a clinical victory, SRH assistant coach Simon Helmot came forward to laud Yadav and added that his team couldn’t do much when the star batter had already made up his mind. Helmot further stated that the MI star is an exceptional cricketer and he will have an influence in the forthcoming World Cup.

“It's very difficult to bowl against Suryakumar Yadav. A very difficult batsman to match up with when he is in that sort of mood. He did not make many mistakes throughout the match. We did our best to mix things up and get him out but he was just too good tonight,” said Helmot in the post-match conference as quoted by India Today.

Suryakumar Yadav is always going to demand a spot in the Indian team: Helmot

“Suryakumar is an exceptional cricketer and I think he is always going to demand a spot in the Indian team. I am sure that he will have an influence in the World Cup,” he added.

Talking about the MI vs SRH clash, MI lost their top order without much contribution as Yadav carried the maximum load of the chase with some assistance from Tilak Varma. Varma added 37 off 32 to help his senior partner and take his team home at Wankhede Stadium. On the bowling front, Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla took three wickets each for MI while star bowler Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket, giving only 23 runs in his quota of four overs. After the game, SRH sit at the 4th spot in the points table while MI continue to languish at the 9th slot.
