After having a brilliant season in the domestic arena, young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal made it to the finals of India’s World Test Championship squad against Australia. Even though he didn’t get an opportunity to make his debut but the cricketer has once again earned a call-up to play against West Indies in the upcoming two-match series. However, this time around, he is expected to make it to the playing XI, as senior player Cheteshwar Pujara has been dropped.

Meanwhile, talking about his interaction with all the other senior batters of the red-ball squad, Jaiswal revealed that players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane have advised him to keep a positive mindset and to learn and enjoy the process in order to take his game forward.

"They (Rohit, Kohli, Rahane) have an incredibly strong mindset and great clarity of things. They advised me that it's up to me how I take my game forward as although there will be learning, but in the end, it's me who has to go out there and perform. There's a lot to learn and I hope I keep enjoying the process," Jaiswal stated.

“Absolutely it's all about the mindset as Rohit bhaiya, Virat bhaiya and Ajju bhaiya have told me. It's all about how I am able to adapt to the situation and conditions and win the game for my team. The intention is always to think what's the best I can do for my team,” the 21-year-old said while talking to SportsTak.

I keep myself motivated all the time: Jaiswal

Notably, Yashasvi Jaiswal was in terrific form in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) and since then, a lot of former cricketers have backed him to make his India debut soon, with some even saying that he can make it to India’s World Cup squad, which is slated to begin later in the year. Meanwhile, he has shown his pedigree and mettle so far and recently stated that he keeps motivated all the time to win games in any situation.

“I keep myself motivated all the time that I can win games for my team from any situation. That gives me the confidence to think positive and have faith in myself,” Jaiswal concluded.
