The Indian Premier League 2023 continued its incredible action on Thursday, April 27, as Rajasthan Royals hosted Chennai Super Kings in Match 37 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Chennai Super Kings - one of the most popular franchises of IPL - get immense support from the crowd wherever they travel to play, as fans turn up in yellow in admiration for legendary player MS Dhoni.

Pointing out the same at the toss, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson said that he hoped to get good support from the crowd with the team playing at home. However, he also mentioned that the crowd seemed to be covered in yellow to cheer for MSD.

“We would like to bat first. We like to stick to our strength, which is to defend. It feels really great to play RR's 200th game, feels great to be playing for 10 years. Would love to see some pink here today, but it's yellow and we know that the reason is (smiles)," said Samson at the toss.

After winning the toss, Samson elected to bat first and updated that Trent Boult would be missing out from the match due to a niggle and Adam Zampa had been brought into the side in his place.

"Boult misses out due to a niggle, Zampa is playing in his place,” Samson added.

Boult has been in incredible form for RR so far in the tournament and has been particularly phenomenal with the new ball. The southpaw has consistently picked wickets in the powerplay and got his team off to a rollicking start with the ball. Boult is the second-highest wicket-taker for Rajasthan so far after adding nine wickets to his name from six innings at an average of 21.22 and an economy of 7.95.

On the other hand, Adam Zampa has played two matches so far and picked two wickets.

Chennai high on confidence following three-match winning streak

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings, ranked at the top of the points table with five wins from seven games, played the same side as their last fixture and are coming into the game on a three-match winning streak.

On the other hand, Rajasthan are ranked third on the points table with four wins from seven games and are coming into the fixture having lost their previous two matches against Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively.
